Spiritual Message: Choices

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

We all make choices every day, but the problem that I have is that most of us refuse to take

responsibility for our choices. We find ourselves blaming someone or something when our choices are

not successful. When we refuse to accept and take responsibility for the choices that we made we are

playing to the benefit of the enemy. He wants you to deny your bad choices, because he understands

that this will cause hard feelings between people and ultimately hate and distrust. Most people believe

that choices are a GOD given Blessing to us. But, what if I told you that it is not true, and I can prove it.

Would you be able to accept that proof? The ability to accept the truth or deny it is also a choice. This

ability to accept or deny the truth is probably the main reason that GOD knew that you would not be

able to effectively make the right choices when called upon to do so. In Genesis 2:8-9, And the Lord God

planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the

ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree

of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We next go to

Genesis 2:16-17, And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou

mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the

day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And finally, we find in Genesis 3:2-3, And the woman

said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; But of the fruit of the tree

which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest

ye die. Based upon these scriptures alone, we understand that they both knew that they were not to eat

of these two trees. So, if they were not given these trees then that means that they were not theirs and

if they were not theirs and if they took something that did not belong to them, I think that is called

stealing. To help you further understand what I am saying, you must first understand that it is from the

tree of the knowledge of good and evil is where we get our freedom of choice. That leaves us to the

conclusion that if this knowledge was stolen then it can not be a Blessing it must be a curse. It is not a

curse for what it is, but a curse because of how it was obtained. Everything that GOD has made is good,

but it is how it is obtained and how it is used that makes it bad. It is clear to me that stealing this gift

before we were able to use it properly is what has given the enemy a foothold on our lives today. We

are constantly making choices without consulting GOD and seeking HIS directions and expecting it to

turnout right. The enemy is constantly using your inability to make good choices to benefit him. When

you go to others without first seeking GOD’S direction, we are allowing the enemy to use others to make

your decisions to benefit him. If you seek GOD first, HE will send people as a confirmation of what HIS

desires for you are.

When I think about choices, I remember the choice that Joshua put before the children of Israel in his

farewell address to them. I consider this one of the greatest speeches given by a man of GOD in the

Bible, if you get a chance read it in its entirety in Joshua chapter 24.

For the benefit of this message, I will only use Joshua 24:14-15, in which he says: Now therefore fear

the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in Truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on

the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord. And if it seems evil unto you to serve

the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that

were on the other side of the flood, are the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me

and my house we will serve the Lord.

What a great statement for a man of GOD to make when it appears everything was against him, and he

was still able to stand in the eye of the devil and choose GOD. But not only choose GOD for he and his

family but also convince other Israelites to do the same. Our choices impact our soul, sometimes our

family, friends and everyone we encounter. His choice impacted a people.

When GOD allowed Adam and Eve to keep freedom of choice it was not a Blessing, it was a curse. But

Christ came to relieve us of that curse and give us direction in living in a Godly manner. Christ left His

teachings to guide us in our walk with him. The enemy is still constantly using family members, loved

ones, friends, political leaders and even some religious leaders to make his decisions through them. But

you have Christ and His Father GOD to guide you in the right and true direction. It is written in Proverbs

3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways

acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. It is also written in Luke 12:31, But rather seek ye the

kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. No matter who tells you what to say are

do, pray about it and HE will send you confirmation of HIS answer. May these words be a Blessing to you

and all who may Believe them.
